Biography

Mr. Foy acts as counsel to both public and private corporations on a variety of employment and labor matters. He has appeared before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the Michigan Court of Appeals, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan and circuit and district courts throughout Michigan.

Significant experience includes:

  • Negotiating and drafting labor contracts and municipal contracts, and drafting zoning and municipal ordinances.
  • Representing municipal clients in building, zoning and code enforcement matters and providing municipal clients with numerous legal opinions on a variety of topics.
  • Advising clients on labor matters such as the coordination of the Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and Michigan Workers' Compensation Act.
  • Representing clients in suits under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, National Labor Relations Act, and Michigan Public Employment Relations Act.
  • Representing clients before the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, Michigan Employment Security Agency and Michigan Employment Relations Commission.

Mr. Foy is a member of the Labor and Employment Law section of the State Bar of Michigan. Mr. Foy is proficient in German and studied in Munster, Germany.
