Biography
Mr. Murphy's litigation practice spans various areas including securities, bankruptcy, secured transactions, sales, insurance defense, contracts, and real estate matters in the commercial setting. Mr. Murphy represents clients in state and federal courts throughout Michigan. Mr. Murphy's expertise in representation of debtors and creditors in bankruptcy compliments the firm's business law practice. Mr. Murphy's background in debtor/creditor matters includes private workouts commercial collections, liens and lien foreclosure. As an adjunct to his litigation practice, Mr. Murphy frequently advises clients on a variety of commercial matters. Mr. Murphy has substantial experience in the arbitration of customer-broker disputes and claims involving securities and other business matters.
Mr. Murphy is a member of the Detroit Bar Association and a member of the Securities and Commodities Law Committee. Mr. Murphy is also a member of the American Bar Association and its Litigation and Business Law Sections.
