Biography

Mr. Shmelev is the Managing Partner of the St. Petersburg office, representing the firm before all local and federal authorities. Mr. Shmelev specializes in complex litigation, including white collar defense, defense of business executives before the Tax Inspectorate of Russia, general civil litigation and criminal defense Mr. Shmelev has also served as general counsel to an unincorporated affiliation of Russian businesses, and offers legal and business counseling to numerous Russian and multinational clients. He is a longstanding member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association and a graduate of the Saint Petersburg University Law Faculty.
