Biography

Albert Taylor Nelson, Jr. is of counsel to the firm and concentrates his practice in the areas of workers' compensation and healthcare regulations. Mr. Nelson received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history, and his Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from the University of Detroit. Prior to 1980, he taught Social Studies at Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan.

Active in many civic and professional organizations, Mr. Nelson is a public member, by appointment, to the Board of Optometry, serving as Chair of the Jurisprudence and Disciplinary Sub-Committees. Mr. Nelson was appointed to the Detroit Historical Society, board member, and to the Detroit Workplace Development Commission, board member, by Mayor Kilpatrick. He has also been appointed a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Michigan and to the City of Troy's Personnel Board. Mr. Nelson has membership in the State Bar of Michigan, Wolverine Bar Association and the Augustus Straker Bar Association.

Biography

Ms. Lusn graduated from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University in 2002. While at the Michigan State University College of Law she received the Dean King Scholarship for academic achievement. During her graduate studies, Ms. Lusn was involved with the tax clinic and the flagship semester of the small business and nonprofit clinic. Ms. Lusn also served as vice-president of the Business Law Society. Ms. Lusn graduated from the College of Law in 2005 with concentrations in both corporate law and litigation. She was selected for and completed the Fieger Trial Practice Institute certificate program.

Ms. Lusn is a member of the sections of Employment and Workers’ Compensation Law, Business Law, Litigation and the Young Lawyers Division of the Michigan Bar Association. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, Oakland County Bar Association, and the Michigan Self-Insured Association. Ms. Lusn serves the community by participating as a member of the Marketing and Communications Committee of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy.
