Biography

Terrence E. Keating concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, trusts and nonprofit law. Mr. Keating has more than 30 years of personal trust, probate and investment management experience with Detroit area financial institutions and law firms.

Mr. Keating is regularly involved in estate planning for tax savings, family wealth preservation and business succession, utilizing lifetime planning techniques intended to carry-on after death, i.e., revocable and irrevocable and off-shore trusts, family limited partnerships and limited liability companies.

Mr. Keating is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, participating as a member of the Probate and Trust and the Taxation Sections of the State Bar. Currently, he serves on the Board of Trustees of the Metropolitan Detroit Board of the American Heart Association (Past President), the Advisory Board of Education for the Archdiocese of Detroit, and is a consultant to the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy. In addition, he is a member of the University of Notre Dame National Alumni Board Past Presidents Council, the Hundred Club, the Financial and Estate Planning Council of Detroit, Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers, Lighthouse of Oakland County Planned Giving Committee, the University of Detroit Mercy Planned Giving Council, and the Planned Giving Roundtable of Metro Detroit.

He is a Past President of the Detroit Golf Club, Detroit Athletic Club and Oakland County Catholic Social Services.
